HELENA, Mont. —The 2024 candidate filing period in Montana officially came to a close on Monday evening.
Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen opened the doors to the candidate filing period on Thursday, January 11, as more than 100 candidates filed on the opening day.
When the filing period closed at 5 p.m. Monday, more than 400 candidate filings had been processed by the Secretary of State’s Office. The office processed more than 50 filings on the final day.
“Thank you and congratulations to all of the candidates who filed to represent our wonderful state,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “I wish all candidates the best of luck in the upcoming elections.”

Montana’s Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 4, while the General Election will be Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
