HELENA, Mont. — Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen motioned during the February Land Board meeting to green-light logging operations in Beaverhead, Flathead, and Sanders counties. The motion received unanimous support from her fellow Land Board colleagues.
“It’s important for us to manage our forests in Montana responsibly. These projects will reduce fire fuel and also promote resilience to insects and disease,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “These timber sales will generate an estimated $650,000 for Montana trusts, including our local schools. It’s a win-win for Montana and Montana’s students.”
“The combination of extreme environmentalists and out-of-touch federal bureaucrats have wreaked havoc on our precious forest lands. I’m proud to fight back by championing the Montana way of life,” Secretary Jacobsen continued.
Secretary Jacobsen also joined her all-Republican Land Board colleagues during February’s meeting to support the replacement of outdated bridges in Rosebud County.
