HELENA, Mont. — Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen announced this morning that polls are opening across the state for the 2024 Primary Election.
“Happy Election Day, Montana! The Montana Elections Team is honored and proud to serve as you cast your votes for local, state, and federal representation,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “Make a plan to get vote ready and ensure your voice is heard. Visit our voter resources website – www.VoteMT.gov – to find your sample ballot, confirm your voter registration status, and so much more. Election officials are also available and happy to assist throughout the day.”
In Montana, polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, though polling places serving a smaller number of voters may open after 7 a.m. but no later than noon. County election offices provided their 2024 Federal Election polling places, which can be found online here. Contact information is available on the VoteMT.gov website.
Secretary Jacobsen and the Montana Elections Team also remind registered absentee voters to return their ballots in person before 8 p.m.
Following the close of polls at 8 p.m., county election officials will begin tabulating election results and reporting them to the Secretary of State’s website. As a reminder, all results are unofficial until they are canvassed at a later date.
“Today is exciting for voters, candidates, and election officials,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “We’re proud to provide safe, secure, transparent, and accessible elections of the highest integrity. Thanks for voting, Montana!”
