HELENA, Mont. — Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen presided over the Meeting of the Electoral College on Tuesday afternoon at the State Capitol. Montana’s electors cast the state’s four Electoral College votes for President Donald Trump.
“The ballots have been accepted,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “Please visually witness the fact that the 2024 Montana Presidential Electors have cast four votes for Donald J. Trump, the Republican Party’s candidate for President of the United States, and have cast four votes for JD Vance, the Republican Party’s candidate for Vice President of the United States of America.”
“Montana’s choice for President is Donald J. Trump,” echoed chairperson Debra Lamm. “The choice for Vice President is JD Vance.”
President Trump won Montana by 20 percentage points in the November election, receiving more than 350,000 votes.
The Montana GOP selected four Presidential Electors to cast the state’s electoral votes:
- Debra Lamm
- Theron “Terry” Nelson
- Becky Stockton
- Winston “Keith” Baer
Also in attendance were alternate electors Carter Jasper and Suzzann Nordwick.
Montana’s results will be sent to Washington D.C., where they will be tallied with results from around the country on January 6, 2025.
