HELENA, Mont. — Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen joined her fellow Board of Land Commissioners (Land Board) in approving agenda items during Monday’s monthly meeting that would generate revenue for Montana schools and trusts.
Secretary Jacobsen and the Land Board (Secretary of State, Attorney General, Governor, State Auditor, and Superintendent of Schools) voted unanimously to approve June’s agenda items, including one timber sale in western Montana and an oil/gas lease sale. June’s meeting produced an estimated generated revenue of roughly $550,000 for Montana schools.
“I’m pleased to see the continuous stream of revenue generated for our Montana schools through state trust lands,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “Besides the timber sale and oil/gas lease sale, we approved important easements to provide our rural neighbors with improved services.”
