HELENA, Mont. — Montana remains on pace to see record growth in new business registrations in 2022, says Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen.
For the sixth consecutive month, new business registrations in Montana have surpassed the comparable totals from the same months in 2021. According to the Montana Business Economic Report, roughly 4,300 new businesses registered in October 2022.
Montana had record business growth in 2021, with nearly 50,000 new businesses created. To date, more than 45,000 new businesses have registered in 2022.
“Montana continues to offer a pro-business climate,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “Montanans can register their new business 24/7 through our online filing portal, and I’m proud to say our state offers some of the lowest filing fees in the nation.”
Earlier this year, Secretary Jacobsen cut fees in half for new Montana business registrations. Several other fees were waived entirely.
“We want to make it easy to do business in Montana,” said Secretary Jacobsen, “and seeing the continued growth of new business registrations means we are accomplishing that goal.”
