HELENA, Mont. — More than a dozen Red Lodge middle school students visited the Montana State Capitol, including the Secretary of State’s Office, earlier this week.
Roosevelt Middle School Principal Jason Reimer aims to bring sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students to Helena each year to tour the Capitol Building and meet with elected officials. Reimer and students have traveled to Helena during Montana’s Legislature in the past.
Each of the 14 middle school students received a United States and Montana Constitution and asked questions regarding the roles and responsibilities of the Secretary of State’s Office.
“It’s wonderful to see staff and administrators invested in bringing great experiences to our Montana students,” said Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen. “It’s great for students to learn more about the history of our beautiful State Capitol and have the opportunity to ask questions of elected officials and staff.
“Thank you to Principal Reimer and the students for visiting the Montana Secretary of State’s Office.”
