HELENA, Mont. — Third grade students from Montana City School visited the State Capitol and Secretary of State’s Office on Friday. Students recently completed lessons on Montana history, including history involving the state’s government.
Students were greeted by Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen. Secretary Jacobsen explained the roles and responsibilities of the Secretary of State’s Office, and she also quizzed them on their knowledge of Montana history.
“What an incredible, smart group of students,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “I was so impressed with their knowledge of our state – recognizing the three branches of government, knowing their elected officials, remembering when Montana became a state, and so much more.”
“Thank you to the Montana City School teachers for providing such a wonderful education, and thank you for bringing the students to our State Capitol,” continued Secretary Jacobsen.
Students were also given a tour of the State Capitol.
