HELENA, Mont. — Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen and her fellow Montana Land Board Commissioners approved items generating an estimated revenue of more than $800,000 during the August meeting held earlier this month.
Each month, the Board of Land Commissioners – Secretary of State, Governor, Attorney General, State Auditor, and Superintendent of Public Schools – meet to discuss and vote on decisions surrounding Montana’s state trust lands operated by the Department of Natural Resources & Conservation (DNRC).
August’s meeting included a timber sale in Flathead County that generated an estimated $541,512 for Montana’s Common Schools Trust.
“I’m proud to support responsible development of our natural resources in Montana,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “Our state trust lands benefit our Montana schools and this timber sale was another great example of utilizing our resources to benefit the schools. Thank you to the DNRC staff for their continued excellent work in maximizing revenue from Montana’s state trust lands.”
